Where Did She Go Lord?

Where did she go Lord, where did she go?

Did she wander from you?

Did she wander off because she couldn’t find you?, Couldn’t feel you?

Yet, didn’t she go to you every morning…bow before you as she laid down the midnight worries of her mind?

Didn’t she ask, beg, plead? And cry out for your help as she continued to start each new day with you…didn’t’ she soldier on and try to do the next right thing?

And didn’t each new morning turn into another afternoon, another evening, another long day of fighting back the darkness?

But God? Didn’t she see glimpses of you here and there? And didn’t you help her everyday? And were you not beside her all the way?

Was that not enough for her?

Did she let doubt take over from there as the sorrows began to roll in one after another? Did she start counting the heartaches and close her eyes to the blessings you sprinkled over her everyday?

God, when the waves continually crash over and over, sprinkled blessings are hard to notice.

But who am I to question you Lord?

Your mercies are new every morning. They are new every morning. You said it yourself.

God…can you help me find her? You are the only one who knows how to call her in. You have never left her side. Though her world has crashed into the sea you still hold her, you still press your love notes into her tight fists as she fights you, surrenders to your love and then fights you some more.

Thank you for new mornings, thank you for your beautiful mercy and your patient love. 

And tomorrow Lord? Let’s begin again, palms up.

sea,
